What is this: With this trick you can enable or disable Media Player Recent Files
Valid for: All Windows
Registry Keys:
User Key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences
Changes:
Create new or modify existing Binary value called "AddToMRU"
value=1 means enable Recent Files
value=0 means disable Recent Files

Click start button & click run
type "Regedit" in run box & press OK
Registry editor will show up in windows eplorer fashion
left section will show location of regitry entries
right section will show contents of current registry entry
system keys represents changes for all users
user key represents changes for user only

Advice
Always use system restore before doing changes to your syetm so that if you do something wrong you can alwasy revert back your computer to its previous state

Click Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System restore

Select Create a restore point to backup at current state
If you want to revert to previous state select restore my computer to an earlier time
