What is this: This trick will allow you to customise places bar, most-recently-used (MRU) list & back button in Open & Save Dialog Boxes
Valid for: Windows XP/2000/ME
Registry Keys:
System Key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Comdlg32
User Key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies
Changes:
Create new or modify existing DWord values of the following
"NoBackButton" (Hides the back button)
"NoFileMRU" (Hides the most-recently-used (MRU) list)
"NoPlacesBar" (Hides the places bar)
value=0 means display
value=1 means remove

How to use these tricks
Click start button & click run
type "Regedit" in run box & press OK
Registry editor will show up in windows eplorer fashion
left section will show location of regitry entries
right section will show contents of current registry entry
system keys represents changes for all users
user key represents changes for user only

Advice
Always use system restore before doing changes to your syetm so that if you do something wrong you can alwasy revert back your computer to its previous state

Click Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System restore

Select Create a restore point to backup at current state
If you want to revert to previous state select restore my computer to an earlier time
